What's News...
Power over Ethernet (PoE) has been around for a number of years with proprietary, and often non-interoperable, implementation from various vendors to power devices. In June 2003, the IEEE ratified its 802.3af power of Ethernet standard which spurred a revolution of standard-compliant 802.3af products. In 2009, the IEEE ratified the 802.3at PoE Standard, commonly known at PoE+. Which do you need? Read more

SFP and Compatibility
IMC Networks offers a large selection of copper and fiber SFPs that are MSA-compliant. In addition, we also offer Cisco-compatible SFPs. SFPs are compact modular transceivers and come in a variety of modes, wavelengths and data rates. Recently, we have discovered that some switch and router manufacturers (Cisco, HP, Extreme, Juniper, etc) have chosen to enforce proprietary ‘lock-in’ on SFP slots, causing an industry SFP compatibility dilemma. We do not currently maintain an SFP compatibility log as the number products that support SFPs are too voluminous to acquire for testing. However, we assure you that when you purchase IMC-branded SFPs that you are receiving the highest quality products that include a 1 year warranty. What do we recommend? Read more

- iMcV-FiberLinX-II
- All the iMediaChassis 3/6/20 when used with a SNMP card
LFPT
Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) is a troubleshooting feature that monitors the copper (TXLL) and fiber (FXLL) ports of the unit; if a port loses link, the LEDs extinguish down the line to indicate failure on a segment. Some of our product lines allow the end user to enable/disable the LinkLoss feature; on other products it is permanently enabled.
